Are Social Signals good for making backlinks more powerful?

Hi guys. I have a website that iv been building backlinks for. All of my backlinks are high quality, hand written etc etc.

I have web 2.0, Question and answers, blog posts etc.

My strategy before was to blast these backlinks with a huge scrapebox blast and while it did work for a while, eventually my site would be penalized and hence drop in rankings.

My question is should i give these backlinks some social signals to give them more power instead of blasting them with scrapebox?

I want this site to be good in the long run. Thank you
