Linkwheel Subdomains with Identical Names for an Ecommerce Brand?

I've got a new ecommerce site I'm building, and am wondering if I should use my brand name for all of the subdomains for a linkwheel. Or would Google consider this some kind of unnatural backlinking footprint and penalize me? So I would have something like 10+ web 2.0 properties all with the same name, like:

mybrand.wordpress.com
blogger.com/mybrand
mybrand.tumblr.com
etc.

Your thoughts?
