INTRO - Many experts say that SEO is now especially a matter of building Authority Sites. The are tons of criteria that Google use to determine if a site has a certain level of authority. One of them is checking if there are some pages that are considered required: About us, Contact us, Privacy Policy, Terms of use, etc.
MY QUESTION - When I add Privacy Policy and Terms of Use pages to my sites, I use standard wording that has been used in many other websites, so I have to NO-INDEX these pages to not be penalized for duplicated content. If I don't NO-INDEX them, I'm using duplicated content. But if I NO-INDEX them and Google cannot crawl them, do they still count as a sign of authority? Is the presence of the link to these pages in the homepage enough for Google?
