I've noticed blogspot sites ranking higher than they deserve to for a while, but ever since Penguin it seems to be everywhere. I know Penguin was mostly an offsite thing, and blogspots get backlinked just like everything else, but something appears to have happened.
Has anyone else been noticing this? I'm not going to out anyone's site, but just look around.
The FTC has been up G's ass before over our anti-trust laws and them favoring their own content. Personally I think a search engine company should get to rank anything however they want, but when it comes to my business, I want it regulated. G has basically become a utility, that's how essential search engines are today. Thankfully the US has anti-trust laws, and they are really the only thing standing in Gs way.
