I just finished reading a thread in the Black Hat SEO section of this forum. I saw a lot of bitching and whining but not much in the way of usefulness. What I really found interesting was the section of the BHW forum that it was posted in. Not sure where that kind of garbage fits into Black Hat SEO.
It’s not just the guy who started the thread…people have to respond to it to keep it alive. If it was ignored then it would dies the death it deserves.
So…instead of being a whinebag and just bitching I thought I’d try and add something useful to this place.
Here’s a thought…why are you here? What do you expect to get out of coming here? Do you have anything productive to add to this forum?
It doesn’t matter if you are a complete noob or a seasoned veteran you can both learn from here and add to the discussion. I know, some of you are thinking what can a complete noob bring to the table? Just because someone is new doesn’t make them stupid. The thing I like about noobs is that they don’t know enough to think inside the box…some great ideas come from people new to the SEO world, they just have no idea how to implement and test them. The thing you get from veterans…experience.
I’ve been at this for a long time and have gotten some great ideas from this forum and I like think I’ve shared a few as well. One thing I do have is experience…experience with our own sites and the sites of our clients. I’ve been through all the major search engine changes the past 7 or 8 years and learned the more things change the more they stay the same.
I gave some thought about what I wanted to write and what the most important lesson I’ve learned over the years is. That’s a tough one because there have been 100’s of lessons I’ve learned but I the most important thing I’ve learned is more a truth than a lesson.
How Do You Get Your Website to the Top of the Search Engines?
So that’s the million dollar question…once you figure it out you can pretty much write your own ticket. In this forum you will find many ways:
You get the idea…there are as many ideas (and by the way, these are just a few) as there are SEO practitioners.
I just saw the title of a thread here that read:
“GOOGLE PENALIZES FOR XRUMER. A warning to all to avoid Xrumer blast services.”
I know a fella that makes thousands of dollars a month and about the only backlinking tool he uses is Xrumer. I know one who make a good living promoting his sites using a blog network. Others use SENuke or GSA, and yes article marketing still works if done properly.
Are you starting to see a pattern here?
The truth I learned a long time ago is pretty simple but is the basis for all SEO.
It’s all about “Backlinks”….now can I use xrumer to promote a local business? Not unless you want to trash the site. Can I use article marketing to promote a payday loan site? I can but I’m not going to make any money.
Now the Secret is……….what type of backlinks should I build to promote my site?
That’s a great question for which there is no one right answer. Each niche/site will act differently with the various types of link building activities. Your goal should be to figure out which link building activities will produce the results you are looking for then…..
DO THEM CONSISTANTLY…not once, not twice but over and over.
As the New Year approaches take a look back at how you have promoted your sites…what worked and what didn’t. Stop doing what did not give you tangible results and start doing the things that work.
