How does "exact" vs. "broad" apply to keyword searching for music/genres?

new to the forum and I've researched several threads on exact/broad before concluding to create this thread.

I'm wondering, if a keyword like "goth metal" has 40K broad searches but only has 1K exact match searches, will that mean that an EMD will likely only get traffic from the exact ("goth metal" 1K) search?
