Setup 2 sites no luck!

So I have researched many and many different strategies and decided to create an Amazon Cart with product reviews as well as have reviews of different ebooks through clickbank. I have setup 2 sites(I have bought about 6 more domains in order to mimic the process when the time comes) and have not had any success so far with them. It is pushing 2 months and I have only received 1 sale so far(which I am very excited about).

I was hoping someone could give me some solid advice to help clear up what I might be doing wrong?? I receive anywhere from 50-150 hits on the site from targeted people yet not conversions.

I also have a news/media site that I have also been trying to monetize and I am trying to figure out the best ways to do this. I am currently getting 8000 uv's a day however my adsense ads only push a little over a dollar a day. I have recently tried adding an affiliate amazon account to sell products and have not really had much luck doing that either.

I know I can't force people to buy items and I don't want to give up on these sites. I spend at least an hour a day on each site(sometimes upto 4 hours, depending on my work) to help market the sites.

I have been using google alerts and have been posting on blogs, news articles, and forums.

Thanks guys for your help! I have truly learned a lot by reading all the great help, but I feel like I am missing something here.
