It is so awesome, it is one of the best feelings ever.
I have competitor that is very strong. While he has stagnated with his eCommerce and had trust that everything will went smooth for the future without doing anything innovative, I pushed one marketing campagin after the other.
He lost customers and hired an online marketing guy. This guy did nothing but copying my methods all the time. As they have a double sized customerbase it was more successfull as mine everytime and I freaked.
Today, I just watched the GA livestats and saw instead of the usual 20 UVs on the site up to 50-60 and I wondered where they came from. I saw they came from tagged links of an email newsletter provider. I checked my private emails (i am opted to all the competitors lists) and saw a newsletter from my main competitor.
We have been promoting the same new hype product and I noticed he had copied a line of my product description. Below this line: Read more here: Link to my site. HAHAHA
He had copied it directly from my site, where I used this nifty little script
. You see the link in your editor when you paste it, but i noted often, that if you delete it, the link is not visible in the editor anymore, but still there in a not showing div tag, that shows up again first in your email client.
What a wonderful day...
