picasaweb can i upload anything to this and point to high traffic site??

sorry noob question time.

has anyone had any luck uploading images to picasaweb and then putting the links on a wordpress site?

I'm looking at ways of saving on bandwidth.

Was thinking of hosting the site on vps and let the cloud/storage handle the images.

let me know if i am making sense! lol
